Scotland – The five regions:

South West – Turnberry, Prestwick, Royal Troon and Machrihanish
South East – North Berwick, Gullane, Muirfield,
Historic Heartland – St Andrews, Carnoustie, Perth, Gleneagles
North East – Aberdeen and Cruden Bay
Highlands – Nairn, Inverness and Dornoch. 

Region 1: South West
This is the region that gave birth to the world’s oldest golf tournament, the Open Championship.   Prestwick first staged the Open back in 1860 when just eight golfers took part.  Although this course is no longer on the Open rota it nevertheless provides an immensely enjoyable round amid stirring beauty – what a way to begin your Scotland tour with a warm up round where the first Open was played!  More >>

Region 2: South East

Region 3: The Heartland
You venture into the heart of the Kingdom of Fife where the world’s most famous golf course resides – the Old Course at St. Andrews!  Home to the Millennium Open and again in 2005.  Certainly, St. Andrews offers so much more than the famous old links – there are five other courses that come under the St. Andrews Links Trust banner - the Dukes being the only inland course.  More >>

Region 4: The North East
Literally bursting with character, the North East embodies everything that is great about Scottish golf and also happens to be one of the developing regions for golf in Scotland.  Home to two of Scotland’s finest seaside courses – Royal Aberdeen and Cruden Bay.  In keeping with the links theme, Murcar which sits a simple 8-iron from Royal Aberdeen, is a beautiful exponent of links golf.   More >>
